Creativity Boot Camp - Day 2

"picnic"

The girls were very excited about this prompt which fit in nicely with our summer fun list. We tend to be homebodies so the little nudge to get outdoors was just what we needed this morning. We opted for a breakfast picnic because of the Arizona heat. Picnics are all about the food, company and outdoors which is why I chose to eat first with them, then take pictures after. I still need some work with the exposure but I am feeling more like an "artist" when I use the manual setting. The writing prompt asked us to think about the word "artist". Do we see ourselves as one? I would say no. To me an artist is someone who has mastered his/her craft. I see myself as more of an art student. I don't know that I'll ever feel comfortable calling myself an artist, I'm happy with just being creative.

Here is the original shot straight out of the camera plus a few extras from "the roll". Whoa, remember rolls of film? What do we call "rolls" now? A photo shoot? Oh, that sounds way to technical, I think I'll go with "the roll".

really cool! In my mind art is paint related. Is that odd? And since I don't paint, I certainly don't consider myself an artist.
