I have declared today
Bend the Rules with Fabric Day.
Amy Karol has so graciously shared more fabulous ideas than I could dream to complete but today I am going to attempt a select few. First up was the iron on patch. Oh, I could not contain my excitement as I watched this project unfold. I started with a simple dress then searched my fabric stash for something to transfer. A flower left over from
this just sang out to me.
I went with Amy's advice and decided to bend the rules a little by not using the lite Heat and Bond because a) my store didn't have it and b) I wasn't sure my stitching skills could handle this design.
I'm so pleased with how it came out and I'm pretty sure she is too. We tucked a t-shirt underneath and she worn it out the door this morning. This iron-on patch was so simple that I'm off to dig for pants with holes this instant.
Here is what I used for the dress. Simplicity 5531 + Heat and Bond
Ultrahold.

I really like the simplicity of this dress.
it's a darling dress for a darling girl!
I love that dress! Great job, and your little model obviously loves it, too. I was very pleasantly surprised to see the pattern you used, because I have that exact pattern in my stash but have never used it! I'm off to make a new dress...
