I am so excited to be participating in Elsie Marley's Kids Clothes Week
Challenge. I have decided to use this as an opportunity to push myself and learn some new techniques. I gave myself a bit of a head start by cutting some dresses and skirts. This week I plan to focus on the details. I was inspired by Made-by-Rae's pleated pockets (
here)
decided to give them a try. I used the Oliver + S Popover Dress Sundress (
here) and then added these bright pockets. This project is really budget friendly because one fat quarter paired with some simple solids give you a lot of bang for your buck.
Pleated Pocket Popover Sundress.
I love the detail under the yoke too. At first I wanted to use ric rac but I didn't have any on hand so I pulled these orange
polka dots from the scrap pile. I'm a sucker for orange. I'm a sucker for
polka dots too for that matter. I'm so happy with how it came out and ready for the next project.

Hey cute! Love those pockets! :P Really though, I love that fabric!
Wow that looks awesome! The color combo really makes the dress.
I love the trim under the yoke. How do you do that? I'm sure I've seen a tutorial somewhere but can'[t find anything online. It really makes the dress come together. BTW I know my comment is 2 years late but just wanted to say it's beautiful!
