As it turns out my sewing machine was not broken. I swear nothing would move when I turned it on but when I took it in to the shop the nice lady magically turned the knob and everything was working fine. I just smiled like an idiot and said "thank you" then I picked up my machine and came home. What a dork. Anyway, I have a list of projects but pajamas were most in need so I decided to start there. The girls each got a nightgown made from an old top sheet. There is enough material left so I think I'll make some pj's for myself too.
What makes me extra happy about today was I bravely used my serger for this project. Knives and needles were flying everywhere so I closed my eyes and shoved the material through. Just kidding, although I did envision running my finger through it and it would not be a pretty sight. The serger does make a difference in the end though so I think I'll keep it out for the next item on my list. Now I just have to decide what's next.

The little nightdress is adorable and I love that fabric. What a great find. I know what you mean about serger fear LOL. It does feel a little like knives and needles going everywhere when you use them!
Don't worry, the blade stops your finger before you hit all the needles. I managed to get my finger caught in both a serger and an industrial sewing machine while at fashion school. The sewing machine was worse.
This is gorgeous! I never would have thought it was pajamas--beautiful enough for a dress!
What pretty fabric for a nightgown! So lovely, I agree it could be a dress...
