Church and Karate

Fall classes are upon us. Ava is in Sunday school classes to get her ready for her first communion. She also started Karate today. Can you guess which one she is excited about? I think she thinks the angel has a blue belt.

My Fall Sweater

Yeah! I finally finished my first adult sized sweater. I used the Hourglass Sweater pattern found here. It took me just under two months. Although it's technically fall I could probably get another one done before the weather gets cold enough to wear them. I've been tracking my progress on Ravelry. It is such a great site to record projects, notes and check out what others are making.

Books on tape I listened to while making this:
The Friday Night Knitting Club - Kate Jacobs
The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Poisonwood Bible - Barbara Kingsolver

New Books

I have been patiently flipping through the pages of these amazing new books. There is so much goodness here I'm not sure where it start. A mouse pad, a baby quilt or something more practical like new skirts for the girls. I am determined to finish my first sweater before I start a new project so these books will just have to wait.

Oh Cinderella

Oh Cinderella I feel your pain. I have already found my prince but some days I feel like a servant in my own home. Here it is the first day of Autumn, one of my favorite days of the year and I am too tired to enjoy it. It is a Tuesday, my "day off" from work and this is how I spent it.
wake up
make bed
dress and feed kids
pack lunch for school
drop off 2nd grader
set up sick 4 year old on the couch
empty dishwasher
fill dishwasher
dust
sweep
vacuum
wash rugs
mop floors
clean 2 bathrooms
empty trash cans
clean kids room
wash rags/mop
clean dinning room table
feed dogs (again)
fold clothes
put clothes away
check and respond to personal emails
check and respond to work emails
wrap gifts for our 3 birthday parties on Saturday
make lunch

After that I called it a day. I joined my little one on the couch with my knitting and we watched Enchanted. I like the ending of this fairy tale better than Cinderella. Sometimes you can't wait for someone to save you, you just have to put your feet up and take care of yourself.

Birthday Bucket

Here is a gift I made for my nephew's second birthday. I used this pattern from Maya Made for the bucket and put made some beanbags to go with it. I'm really happy with how it turned out and am ready to make another one.

Delaney's Hat

That last hat was just so fun I decided to whip one up for dear little Delaney. She is my friend Marie's new baby girl. I got to peek in on the sweet sleeping bundle but no hugs yet because I have a slight cold.
