Making Play Dough

My girls LOVE play dough. The messier the better. We had fun making this recipe below. The only problem is the food coloring we used to add color stayed on our hands a day or two. Want to try it?

Start with:
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
1 cup warm water
food coloring
measuring cup
large bowl

Dissolve the salt in the warm water and add the flour. Dig in and knead with your hands until it is a consistency you like (you may need to add more flour or water). Add food coloring to color the dough. We used the primary colors and mixed them together to make orange, purple and green. It was so much fun playing with the colors that we never got to making shapes but you can use cookie cutters , plastic knives etc if you like.

ahhh...the next time you should use soap dye...that doesn't stay on your hands and it won't stain your clothes :)

Kids are soooo cute!!!
