... but let me back up for a minute first. While visiting the library yesterday I picked up a list of their summer events for kids. I noticed that there was a magician performing in a town called Evergreen (25 minutes away) so we decided to check it out.
But if you take the kids to Evergreen you have to stop by the lake.
Once you show them the lake they are going to want to hike around it.
And if they hike around a lake they are going to want to explore it more closely.
And maybe get a little wet.
After they finish playing they will probably want to sit down and rest awhile.
They will think its a good idea to sketch the pretty view so you'll have to get out their journals.
It's a good thing you thought about making journals before you left home while waiting for the magician show in Evergreen to start.

So, we set off to see a magician at the library who was corny but entertaining. The real highlight of the day was our hike. We can't wait to go back and maybe rent a paddle boat or bring our fishing poles.
